We are pleased to be able to meet you by appointment in our funeral home or alternatively in the comfort of your own home. Please let us know which venue suits you.

A Funeral service is a bespoke event which needs to be right by you and your loved one. It is our job as professionals to be able to guide you through the process and to also give you advice on what is available to you. We have no preference in Cremation locations, burial locations, types of vehicles etc. All these options are chosen by you with our support.

Below is some helpful things to think about before we meet to arrange the funeral. Our arrangements tend to last between 1-2 hours and we will arrange this time mutually with yourselves. We can help you make decisions on any of the topics below.

  1. Funeral Wishes - Are wishes for Burial or Cremation

  2. Music - Is there any special music to be played and how many pieces would you like? As a general rule of thumb, at a Crematorium you would select a piece of music for as we enter, a reflective piece in the middle of the service, and one piece as we leave. In church it is slightly different as there is often a choice between recorded music and a live organist playing hymns.

  3. Location - Do you know which Crematorium, Church or Cemetery you would like to use?

  4. Religion - Is the ceremony to be carried out in accordance with a particular faith?

  5. Non-Religious - Will the service be a Non-Religious service with a Humanist / Civil Celebrant?

  6. Flowers - Would you like us to arrange your floral tributes or do you have a Florist in mind that you would prefer to engage yourselves?

  7. Donations - Is there a charity you wish to nominate so people may donate in memory of your loved one?

  8. Refreshments - Do you have a particular venue you wish to attend following the funeral?

  9. Newspaper Notice -Do you require an announcement, wording and publication?

  10. Hearse - Should we provide you with a Motorised Hearse or a Horse Drawn and Glass Carriage?

  11. Limousine - Would you like to travel in a Limousine and how many would you require? (6 persons per limousine)

  12. Headstone - Does the final resting place necessitate a stone monument?

  13. Order of Service - Would you like us to produce a memorial booklet to accompany the funeral service?

  14. Place of Rest - Following a Cremation, what are your wishes for the cremated remains?

  15. Personalisation - Massam and Marshall Independent Funeral Directors believe that families have different ways to remember their loved ones and we welcome and encourage the expression of this
