Charles read history at St John’s College, Cambridge, before being called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. He has been heavily involved in community activities and voluntary initiatives ever since returning home to the local area to manage the family farms.
He became interested in the business partnership with David through his own experience of bereavement and first hand encounters with the funeral profession. Charles and David were childhood friends, their fathers having worked together in agriculture for decades.
A considerable amount of his spare time is devoted to the administration of charity and to the furtherance of local and regional issues. What little recreational time left is often spent reading and writing history, walking in the great outdoors, cooking his own versions of the culinary masterpieces of the late great Keith Floyd and the peerless ‘Two Fat Ladies’, and following the instructions of his two beloved Maine Coon cats.
His connection to Parbold goes back some time, as his family were resident at Parbold Hall until the First World War.
Charles is keen to assist the local community by providing this essential service for the benefit of the area.
In his own words; ‘I have every confidence that David and the rest of the team at Massam & Marshall will do their utmost to help those in need of this essential service, and that all will be done with complete courtesy, compassion and professionalism. Thank you very much to all of our clients for sharing this confidence in us, we will not let you down’.
