At Massam & Marshall, we offer our clients an extensive range of funeral options that can cater for different needs and budgets. Importantly, you should be clear and upfront with your Funeral Director if you are working within a budget. Below are some options which may suit clients who are looking for an affordable, dignified and simple option along with our full price list. We are an Independent Funeral Directors which means we will go above and beyond to ensure the very best in service and communication which is reflective in our pricing. From our opening in 2020, we have always displayed our prices openly as we feel they are reflective of the service we provide and certainly have nothing to hide from you, our clients.

We will spend a good amount of time arranging the funeral with you to make sure it is right for your loved one and our Funeral Director will give you independent, no obligation advice on available products. As a general estimation, funeral services tend to cost from around £3300-£4500 depending on your wishes and products required but again, this figure is dependent on what you want and, as an Independent Funeral Director, we can work to different budgets.

We would advise you have a think about what you would like involved with the funeral before you come and talk to us but we are here to guide you and perhaps to even inspire you to make the day as special as it can be.

Crematoria

Below are the prices in the local area for an Adult Standard Cremation (There are other options available which we will be pleased to go through with you).

West Lancashire Crematorium (Westerleigh Group) £1,060 / £1,160

Southport Crematorium (Sefton Council) £900

Charnock Richard Crematorium (CMG (Dignity Funerals)) £1,220

Burial

Burial Fees can vary significantly and some churches only allow burials if you are a resident of that parish. We can assist in finding out this information for you so please do not hesitate to contact us. West Lancashire Cemetery (same site as West Lancashire Crematorium) offer burial plots which are listed below;

Pathside Grave £1,875

Lawnside Grave £1,325

Interment Fee (in addition to either option above) £955

It is also worth thinking about Stonemasonry. West Lancashire Crematorium offer an inclusive service where they can assist with this or alternatively, should you wish for burial at a church, we would act as your agent to find you the Stone you desire (compliant with the chosen churches regulations).

 

Direct Cremation

£1650

This option is suitable for those who do not wish for a formal service and just wish for the quiet dignity of cremation. This type of service is unattended and commonly know as a Direct Cremation.

The Direct Cremation Service includes:

All services of the Funeral Director up to and including the day of the Cremation

All fees for the Crematorium

Coffin suitable for Cremation

Medical Certificates for Cremation

Collection and Care of the Cremated Remains in our Funeral Home 

Access to our complimentary and confidential Bereavement Service

For our Direct Cremation Service, the Cremation may take place at either West Lancashire Crematorium or Southport Crematorium, depending on the availability at either location. Both Crematoria, for a Direct Cremation, do not permit the attendance of any persons at the service, other than the Funeral Director and staff. Additional charges, beyond our control, may be added by the Crematorium if there is anyone else in attendance at a Direct Cremation and these charges will be added to the Funeral Account.

Payment in full for our Direct Cremation Service is required before the cremation service can take place.

Simple Funeral Option

£3,250 Including Disbursements

This simple option is for those wanting a very Intimate, personal, simple, dignified and affordable funeral option and includes;

  1. Early Cremation at West Lancashire Crematorium or Southport Crematorium at a day and date of our choosing. Doctors Fees are also included. A later funeral can be arranged for an additional surcharge.

  2. All our Professional Fees including taking care of all necessary legal and administrative requirements, Transfer and Care of the Deceased at our Funeral Home, Provision of a Ceremonial Vehicle and Staff, and a simple oak contract cremation coffin.

  3. Our Celebrant who will provide a brief, intimate but dignified funeral service for your small group of mourners.

  4. A small floral arrangement for on top of the coffin.

This simple funeral option offers no opportunity to deviate from the above package and Simple Funeral Options must be fully paid before the funeral takes place.
